The irrigation session has two components. In the first part, the importance of well pump maintenance and record keeping will be discussed. Then, the findings from current irrigation research (Reservoir tillage practice and electrical conductivity sensors) will be shared.

About the Speakers

 

Buddy Sebastian, Abraham Rai, Younsuk Dong

Buddy Sebastian (left), president of the Michigan Ground Water Association MGWA and vice president and general manager of Sebastian and Sons Well Drilling. 
 
Abraham Rai is a master's student in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Michigan State University (MSU). He has been working on evaluating the effects of reservoir tillage system on water and nutrient management in a potato field. 
 
Dr. Younsuk Dong (right) is irrigation specialist in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at MSU. His program focuses on improving irrigation water use efficiency through research and outreach activities.
